Aug 23-28, 2022 – Idaho

We drove on rural roads with no Idaho Welcome-Sign to the fist stop – the Backbone State Park.
We got a very nice campsite …
… with lots of space …
… and it looked like the little guys where already waiting for the sugar 🙂
Soooo cute !!!
Very nice trails …
… beautiful forest …
… rock formations …
… and streams
.. with plenty trouts.
Another park where the CCC left their “evidence”
Pretty impressive list !!
Yes, some housekeeping on the “To Do List” today.
But housekeeping need to be rewarded 🙂 … with a Hershey Pie from Burger King
Driving through Iowa – soy beans and corn – as far as the eye is reaching !!!
Next stop is the Bellevue State Park on the Mississippi River
… with a nice campsite for us.
… and yes, we got more hummingbirds here :-).
Beautiful views from the top of the State Park
The Butterfly Garden hat little butterflies – but …
… beautiful flowers ….
.. and birds. The Goldfinch looking soo beautiful picking in the yellow sunflowers.
And hummingbirds everywhere.
We stopped at the Mines of Spain – and early European settler received a land grant from the Governor of Spain to mine the land for lead!! We hiked the Horseshoe Bluff – an amazing 120 ft. cliff – which is now “dead” arm of the Mississippi River.
We hike the Green Island Recreation Area ….
… to the Mississippi
See a Red-Headed Woodpecker …
… and a Bald Eagle – fishing in the Mississippi.
